This summary briefly describes our “manuscript to finished product” process:
- Step 1
You provide us with a book manuscript as a Word document. If you want us to edit the book, we will do it in Word and send it back to you for an approval.
- Step 2
You accept or reject our editing suggestions and send us an approved Word manuscript file for the design and typesetting process.
- Step 3
We use this file to create a sample interior design. At the same time, we usually design the cover, since we often try to carry a “look” from cover to interior with the use of design elements.
- Step 4
Once you approve the interior design, we typeset your approved text and provide a PDF proof. You mark up the proof with any changes and return it to us.
- Step 5
We make changes in our master file and provide another proof. It then goes back and forth until we have it the way you want it. Then we prepare final files that can be used for printing the book. At your request, we will also produce the Kindle and Nook files.
- Step 6
We print the book and oversee distribution to all selected bookstores (online and offline), such as Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble (including BarnesAndNoble.com), and a host of traditional neighborhood bookstores.
“Some books are undeservedly forgotten; none are undeservedly remembered.”
“Read not to contradict and confute, nor to find talk and discourse, but to weigh and consider.”
~Sir Francis Bacon
“The covers of this book are too far apart.”
